Getting Back Into It
I finally went back to the Royal Drawing School after a few weeks of skipping class and it was FUN! Here are the drawings from last night:
One practicing technique I finally tried was to use a bunch of grey markers to force myself to think about value and break my addiction to line. As you can see above, it's still hard for me to let go of drawing lines completely. Still, it got me squinting much more than usually. I learned about this exercise from Nathan Fowkes's How to Paint Landscapes Quickly and Beautifully in Watercolor and Gouache.
