1000 Bad Paintings
"You've got 1000 bad paintings and a great painter inside you. Once the bad paintings have come out, the painter remains." I've heard versions of this in different contexts and I don't know who came up with it originally, but I've always liked to look at it this way.
This is the first painting I'm not very happy with. Even though I think I did pretty well on the perspective and the color of the wall, it looks lifeless and flat to me. Maybe that's because it doesn't have enough detail or perhaps because of some of the inaccuracies, such as the color of the roof and the height of the fundament. The green around it probably also doesn't help and it would've been better to leave the background white.
I hope to be able to ask someone more experienced what is missing here once Covid ends and I can join some urban sketching events.
